City Champions
Every year since 1921, a city champion has been named except for 2020 when the tournament was postponed due to a pandemic. During first three years of the tournament the format was stroke play so the champion was the person who shot the lowest gross total score for all days of the tournament. In 1924, the tournament format was changed to match play and the champion was the player who won in the championship bracket. The format remained match play other than in 1931, 1942, and 1964 through 1970. Ever since 1971 the format has been match play except in 1998 when there was so much rain they had to change to a 54 hole stroke play event.

Mrs. Ben C (Earla) Stevenson was the first winner of the City Championship in 1921 and she continued to win for the next 4 years. The youngest city champion was Claudia Mayhew who was 15 years old in 1965 when she won her first city championship. The oldest city champion was Nancy Fitzgerald who was 65 years old in 2009 at Highland when she won her record-setting 12th city championship. Alice O'Neal Dye won the City 11 times.
